Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Irish are a fairly new program in the mix for Zarzuela, seemingly moving on after losing out on Stanford transfer, Michael O’Connell. The team is completely rebuilding after losing 99% of its production from last season and has added a couple of transfers, including Northwestern backup guard Julian Roper and former Penn State forward, Kebba Njie.

New head coach Micah Shrewsberry has three freshman ball-handlers coming in, including Logan Imes and Markus Burton. Where Zarzuela comes in is that he’s the much-needed veteran that can run the offense on a very young roster and get plenty of playing time. On the other hand, they’re very likely to finish in the bottom tier of the ACC next season. Would the senior guard be willing to go through that just for a starting role?

Oklahoma State Cowboys

OK State was a poor offensive team last season, which was a big reason why they missed the Big Dance. The backcourt has changed a bit outside of returning leading scorer Bryce Thompson, as Avery Anderson transferred to TCU and the team has landed a couple of key transfers, including Javon Small from ECU and Jarius Hicklen of North Florida.

Because there isn’t a true small forward on the roster, the Cowboys can simply use three-guard lineups. Still, there are a lot of guards on this roster after the pickup of Hicklen and it would be a risk if the other newcomers prove to be impactful at the Big 12 level.
