6. Duquesne Dukes – Grade: A

There are two aspects that warrant this grade for the Dukes. The first is that they returned almost everyone that still had eligibility, including their two leading scorers, Dae Dae Grant and Tre Clark. Then, Duquesne revamped its frontcourt and arguably made it better, adding four newcomers.

Two of them are familiar faces in forwards Hassan and Fousseyni Drame from La Salle, as well as NC State transfer center, Dusan Mahorcic. He may not be 100% to start the season but will be a huge piece for them in league play. If they can find a point guard to replace Tevin Brewer, it’ll be an “A+” offseason for them.

5. George Mason Patriots – Grade: C+

This offseason work has been out of the program’s hands, as head coach Kim English was hired by Providence, taking several key pieces with him. The only role player left is Ronald Polite, who can run the offense. Hiring former George Mason player Tony Skinn is good long-term for the program due to his recruiting ability and he did bring in a number of players with long-term potential.

Keyshawn Hall is a talented forward from UNLV, while Darius Maddox was a starting wing at Virginia Tech last season. Keeping Malik Henry could prove to be an underrated move for the frontcourt as well if he can break out. It’s hard to say that the offseason went well for the Patriots but all things considered, they’ve handled themselves well for the future.
