When it comes to the top point guards in the 2024 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, Curtin Givens has emerged as one of the best prospects. He’s a 6’3 playmaker from Memphis, Tennessee who plays his high school ball at Montverde Academy.

But it’s his most recent play at the AAU EYBL circuit that has garnered the most attention. He’s been one of the top players overall, capable of scoring around 30 points while also dishing out plenty of assists. Givens scoring ability makes him a capable off-guard but he’s well-suited to run an offense.

Givens has had plenty of offers but now has provided the latest update on his recruitment. With seven teams now firmly in the mix.

As expected, the local Memphis Tigers are in the mix for Givens but not Tennessee. There are six other NCAA Basketball that could use a point guard in the 2024 class as well. Here’s a look at each situation and whether any stand in terms of being a great fit.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The program hired former Pacific head coach Damon Stoudamire, who was recently an NBA assistant. He’s the kind of former player that can relate to younger guards and that’s a nice selling point. He has two ball-handlers currently on the roster in senior Kyle Sturdivant, as well as Ole Miss transfer Amaree Abram.

There’s been some talk that Abram could be a future pro prospect so if he has a breakout season so Georgia Tech could use a playmaker that can come in right away. It’ll be interesting to see how competitive he can get the program in year one of the ACC and whether that plays into Givens’ desire to join them.
