16. Damion Baugh – TCU Horned Frogs

2022-23 season stats: 12.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 5.8 apg

While Mike Miles (who is definitely gone) was the star of the backcourt, Baugh was fairly good in his own right. He produced career-high numbers as a senior across the board and without Miles, would be the lead guard of the Horned Frogs. They did land a couple of mid-major transfers, including 20 ppg guard Jameer Nelson Jr. from Delaware but it’s always risky to have guys move up a level and try to replicate those results.

15. Mark Sears – Alabama Crimson Tide

2022-23 season stats: 12.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, and 2.6 apg

After Bediako’s decision, the frontcourt for the Tide is in complete shambles. But the backcourt still has work to do as well, with both Sears and Jahvon Quinerly in the process. Sears was the top guard on the team this past season, second in both scoring and passing. They did have Aaron Estrada and Latrell Wrightsil to the backcourt but like with TCU, they’re mid-major transfers that may not be good enough at the SEC level. Sears, considering what they’ve lost already, needs to keep him to feel good about next season.

14. PJ Hall – Clemson Tigers

2022-23 season stats: 15.3 ppg and 5.7 rpg

The Tigers lost its star forward Hunter Tyson this offseason and really can’t afford to lose Hall. He impressed in the G League combine and after dealing with a preseason injury, could feel that he needs to go pro sooner than later. Clemson barely missed out on the NCAA Tournament and would have little hope of the postseason with Hall and that could eventually decide Coach Brad Brownell’s fate if that happens.
