NCAA Basketball: Top 25 NBA Draft decisions left with a week before deadline
10. Trey Alexander – Creighton Bluejays
2022-23 season stats: 13.6 ppg and 4.2 rpg
Alexander ended up being the second-leading scorer for the Bluejays last season, including shooting an impressive 41% from three-point range. He also had a 32-point game versus DePaul on 7/12 shooting from deep. The team has already lost guard Ryan Nembhard (replaced by Utah State transfer Steven Ashworth) and forward Arthur Kaluma. Alexander has the highest ceiling of a pure scorer and for Creighton to remain as a top-10 caliber team, they’ll need him back.
9. Cliff Omoruyi – Rutgers Scarlet Knights
2022-23 season stats: 13.2 ppg and 9.6 rpg
The 6’11 center is one of the best interior defenders in all of NCAA Basketball and tied for the team-lead in scorer. The other top scorer just entered the transfer portal in Cam Spencer and they also have Paul Mulcahy also in the NBA Draft process. For Rutgers to have any hope in the Big Ten next season, they need Omoruyi to come back for his senior campaign.
8. Reece Beekman – Virginia Cavaliers
2022-23 season stats: 9.5 ppg and 5.3 apg
With Kihei Clark gone via eligibility and Armaan Franklin also in the process, Virginia’s NCAA Tournament hopes could depend on what Beekman does. He’s a prolific passer and good defender and could thrive as the lead guard next season. Without him, they’ll need Georgetown transfer Dante Harris to have a major impact.
