There have been two NCAA Basketball players that have dominated the transfer portal talk this offseason. One is Hunter Dickinson, the high-profile transfer from Michigan, who is now at Kansas after a month-long recruitment. The other is Caleb Love, who is technically on his second recruitment of the Spring.
The leading scorer of North Carolina this past season was one of the top names to enter the portal to start the offseason, with plenty of suitors. But reportedly, Indiana, Missouri, and Michigan were in the mix. In the end, the Michigan Wolverines won out on his services.
The program was that there quickly were rumors regarding Love’s admission status at the University, which has become infamous in NCAA Basketball with other former targets. Ultimately, Love and the program had to part ways, making him a free agent again.
A month later in the offseason, plenty of things have changed. Teams that originally were in the mix for the former Tar Heel now have moved on, while many others have added pieces to their respective backcourts. But now, it looks like a few new contenders may be emerging for his services.
Love is from Saint Louis, Missouri so leaving the east coast isn’t a big deal. But two of the premier west coast programs in NCAA Basketball are looking to make one big splash.
There are plenty of pros and cons with each of these options, making it a not-so-easy decision. But assuming that these are the three finalists, here’s how Love fits with each of them.
