One of the more intriguing players in the NCAA Basketball transfer portal is Olivier Nkamhoua, a transfer from Tennessee that’s been a free agent for almost two months. The 6’8 forward from Finland is coming off a career-high senior season, averaging 10.8 ppg. 5.0 rpg, and 2.0 apg on 52% shooting from the field.

Nkamhoua is known as a good defender but with the Vols, an inconsistent offensive threat. But when he’s on, the veteran forward can really be an impact player. He went for 20+ points on five different occasions, including a career-high 27 points twice. One was against Texas in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, with the other coming against Duke in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.

Once he hit the portal, there was definitely interest in Nkamhoua. One program that was consistently in the mix was the Michigan Wolverines. But it was only them and for a while, it looked as if the pro route was seriously an option. And it still can be the case when it’s all said and done. However, some updates have finally come regarding the former Vol.

The West Virginia Mountaineers has been a program that suddenly emerged out of nowhere for Nkamhoua. And now, Michigan has some competition to land him. Both teams have plenty to offer the 5th-year senior but in different ways.

Which of these two is the best fit for the former Tennessee forward, assuming they are the indeed two NCAA Basketball finalists? Here’s a closer look at the options.
