Alabama Crimson Tide

The Tide had the best small forward in all of NCAA Basketball last season in Brandon Miller, who led them with 18.8 ppg as the SEC Player of the Year. They thought they had his replacement in Wichita State transfer Jaykwon Walton but legal issues ruined that pairing. And after missing out on other targets, they have no proven wing on the roster.

There are next to no frontcourt players outside of freshmen Sam Walters and Mouhamed Dioubate. Alabama has to find a veteran player that can score and Burton suddenly becomes a top-tier target. If they sell him on having the same kind of role that Miller did this past season, they could have a good chance.

Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks have already added five transfers, all in the backcourt this offseason. They’re reportedly looking at one more forward and the top option is Ron Holland, a five-star and top-5 overall prospect. He’s looking at both Arkansas and the G League and if Holland picks the pro route, the SEC program will have to regroup.

Burton would be another scorer on the roster and can be the clear starting wing. He’d be a good replacement for Jordan Walsh, who is still in the NBA Draft process. While the former Spider isn’t the same kind of defender, he’d be a massive offensive upgrade.
