Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns have been looking to add more talent on the roster after losing a number of players this offseason. They’ve added a few already, including Oral Roberts transfer, Max Abmas. He and returning guard Tyrese Hunter is a good backcourt duo but assuming that Dillon Mitchell remains in the NBA Draft, they have no real wing on the roster.

Texas is reportedly after UNC transfer guard Caleb Love, which would give them an explosive, yet very small three-guard lineup. Burton would be a much better fit for them as a true small forward and still give them a nice offensive boost. And if he succeeds at the Big 12 level, look for Burton to have a definite shot at getting drafted a year from now.

UConn Huskies

Even before they had just won a national title, UConn was already viewed as the top regional program in the Northeast, where Burton comes from. Now, they’re even more appealing since they won it all and potentially could have plenty of playing time to offer.

The Huskies are definitely losing projected lottery pick Jordan Hawkins and are waiting on starting guards, Andre Jackson and Tristen Newton. If Jackson stays in the draft, the Big East program could use a veteran lead scoring option to not only replace Hawkins but also star big man and leading scorer, Adama Sanogo. Burton could stay close to home and have the chance to play for a Final Four contender as well.
