2. Miami Hurricanes

2022-23 season record: 29-8 (15-5)

Not only did Miami tie a program record with 29 wins overall, but they also made the Final Four for the first time ever as well. They had one of the best starting lineups in the country but will be without the two leading scorers. Jordan Miller was an outstanding combo forward, while Isaiah Wong won the ACC Basketball Player of the Year last season.

The good news is that the Hurricanes still have three quality starters on board. Guard Nijel Pack averaged 13.6 ppg while shooting 41% from three-point range, while Norchad Omier averaged a double-double (13.1 ppg and 10.0 rpg) at the center position. And Wooga Popular was an underrated key piece on the roster as well.

They only landed one transfer on the roster so far but it’s a big one in Matthew Cleveland. The 6’7 forward and former five-star prospect led Florida State with 13.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg last season and will be the replacement for Miller in the frontcourt.

There are still some depth concerns for Miami in the frontcourt and on the wings. They’ll need role players such as AJ Casey, Bensley Joseph, and Jakai Robinson to step up with more minutes likely to come but if it works out, they’ll be in position to contend for another ACC Basketball regular-season title.
