The 2023 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is all but wrapped up, so the attention has turned towards the 2024 group. However, there’s a feeling among national scouts that it’s not the strongest class in the world. At least compared to the class of 2025, which at the top, features some incredibly good talents.

One of them is Cameron Boozer, who is currently ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect per 247sports and other recruiting services. He’s a 6’9 power forward from Miami that already won a high school state championship as a freshman. Boozer is an incredibly skilled forward, capable of scoring both inside and out while also being a quality rebounder and passer out the post.

Cameron is the son of former Duke forward and national champion, Carlos Boozer. He was a three-year star with the Blue Devils, averaging nearly 19 ppg in his junior year before averaging over 16 ppg in a 13-year career in the NBA as a multi-time all-star. His son has a chance to be even better and by the way, he has another son in Cayden Boozer, who is currently ranked in the top 30 of the 2025 class as well.

Recently, Cameron was taking part of the U16 USA Basketball tryouts, where he talked about his recruitment with Eric Bossi of 247sports. In the piece, he mentioned a group of teams that have been most involved with him to this point. Teams like Duke and Miami were obvious to be included but six others also got mention.

It’s obviously extremely early in the process, with years before he has to make a decision. But the recruitment of the Boozers, who both could play together, is going to be one of the top NCAA Basketball recruiting storylines for the foreseeable future. Here’s a very early look at how the top prospect would fit with each reported program.
