NCAA Basketball: Analyzing early 8 teams for 5-star class of 2025 Cameron Boozer
Michigan Wolverines
It’s certainly been a struggle for Coach Juwan Howard and the Wolverines this offseason but he’s always managed to still not only land top-tier prospects but turn them into NBA Draft picks. This is also a conference where Boozer could thrive and would be on national TV for a while.
The concern is whether or not Coach Howard will be around by then. He’s near the “hot seat” after missing out on the NCAA Tournament and he was a reported contender for the Detroit Pistons job. He’s also a former NBA assistant so he could leave for the pros if things don’t get better at Michigan soon.
North Carolina Tar Heels
While Coach Hubert Davis had a massive setback this past season after having the preseason No. 1 designation. But so far, that hasn’t impacted the program on the recruiting trail, currently with the No. 1 class for 2024. That includes four-star center James Brown, who’ll likely be around by the time forward Boozer would arrive.
Let’s be honest, playing for your father’s rival would be the ultimate “heel” move for a player. However, this would also be the biggest shock in recruiting history and would surely be the top storyline for the entire 2025-26 season. And if creating his own legacy means that much, maybe UNC could have some hope in this recruitment after all.
