2. Cam Spencer – Rutgers Scarlet Knights

2022-23 season stats: 13.2 ppg and 3.1 apg

After three quality years at Loyola (MD), Spencer remained an impact player at Rutgers, tied for the team lead in scoring. The 6’4 guard had 15 games with at least 15 points, including 23 points on the road at Northwestern, led by 6/7 shooting from three-point range. He shot 43% from deep on 166 attempts and is easily the best shooter left in the portal at the power conference level.

As a grad transfer, Spencer has recently transferred out of Rutgers so his respective recruitment is very new. But some team is going to land a quality sharpshooter soon and with shooting being at a premium this offseason, the senior guard’s value is even higher we as enter June.

1. Grant Nelson – North Dakota State Bison

2022-23 season stats: 17.9 ppg and 9.3 rpg

The 6’10 forward showed to be one of the more skilled frontcourt players in all of NCAA Basketball this past season, Nelson, who also made the All-Defense team in the Summit League, had 35 points and 16 rebounds against Western Illinois, along with 20 points and 22 rebounds in Summit League Tournament win over South Dakota State.

Nelson entered the portal a while ago and to this point, there’s no update on his recruitment. He’s reportedly focusing on the NBA Draft and there’s a strong chance that he ultimately stays. But if not, the big man will have a massive battle among the top teams still looking for frontcourt help this offseason.
