The team lost several frontcourt players this offseason, including former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Moussa Cisse. Among the veteran frontcourt options are backup Bernard Kouma and Jacksonville transfer Mike Marsh, who is making a big leap to the Big 12.

Miranda would have to compete next to incoming four-star freshmen, Brandon Garrison and Justin McBride in the frontcourt. But he has a good chance at getting early minutes and could even start as well. The one concern is that after missing the NCAA Tournament again, Coach Mike Boynton may not be on the coolest of seats at the moment. That’s something to consider since he won’t be able to transfer again.

Ole Miss Rebels

Speaking of Cisse, Ole Miss was his landing spot after he entered the portal. He joined Western Kentucky big man Jamarion Sharp at the center position. Even if Cisse has to sit out a season, Sharp and incoming four-star big man Cameron Barnes can take the minutes at the five-spot.

And the power forward position already has Jaemyn Brakefield and four-star freshman, Rashaud Marshall. So the minutes are mostly taken for and that doesn’t potentially include Cisse. Considering that Miranda left NC State due to his role, it’s hard to see the Rebels being a viable option.
