UCLA Bruins

The entire starting lineup for the Bruins entered the NBA Draft process and it took the entire time to figure out what the results were. Freshman center Adem Bona was the only player to come back, with the others all staying in the draft process. That includes starting wing and sharpshooter Jaylen Clark, along with freshman guard, Amari Bailey.

UCLA hasn’t been too busy in the transfer portal, only landing Utah guard Lazar Stefanovic. He’s a 6’7 guard/wing that averaged 10.2 ppg and 2.7 apg in 28 mpg, spitting time as a starter and 6th Man. He only shot 37% from the field but was good from deep, making 36% of his attempts at nearly five a game.

The program has focused more on the international route, landing guards Jan Vide and Ilane Fibleuil. It’s never a clear thing how these types of newcomers will work out, as they can either become instant impact starters or way out of their leagues at the power conference level.

Spencer would be the clear focal point of the offense and being in Los Angeles has its obvious benefits. If guards Will McClendon and Dylan Andrews were more proven, I’d feel more comfortable in how this lineup could work out. But it’s never a bad thing in trusting Coach Mick Cronin to make it work out and Spencer would be a nice late piece to add in June to help replace all of the lost production.
