NCAA Basketball: Analyzing top 5 teams for Dayton transfer Mike Sharavjamts
Memphis Tigers
Memphis has a pair of incoming transfer guards in Caleb Mills (FSU) and Jayhlon Young (UCF). And D-II guard Jonathan Pierre also will look to carve out a role in the rotation. But with former commit Ty-Laur Johnson off to Louisville and current five-star guard commit Mikey Williams dealing with legal issues and his status unknown, the Tigers are in need of another guard to add.
Reportedly, the team is also after St. John’s wing, David Jones. If they add him, it’s hard to see where they’d still have minutes for Sharavjamts. He could put up some stats at the AAC level but after struggling with his role at Dayton, Memphis is just as much of a risk with so many unknowns on the roster.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
The Cornhuskers bring back sharpshooting guard Keisei Tominaga and brought in Charlotte transfer, Brice Williams. Adding Sharavjamts would give them even more backcourt depth. This is also a chance for the Dayton transfer to handle the ball more, as the current projected starter is Ahron Ulis, a transfer from Iowa that didn’t score much last season.
It’s an interesting spot because including frontcourt transfers, Rienk Mast and Josiah Allick (CJ Wilcher also is coming back), there’s a fair amount of experienced and proven depth on the roster. Could the rising sophomore find a way to carve out his own role?
