Temple Owls

The Owls have lost a ton of talented guards in the past couple of years, including both Damian Dunn and Khalif Battle this offseason. The team did land Matteo Picarelli and Quante Berry but there’s still a need for more offensive production in the backcourt.

Temple would provide Rucker a chance to be a lead guard option and they could end up being a darkhorse threat in the AAC next season with him. And he’d certainly be the most high-profile incoming transfer on the roster as well.

VCU Rams

The Rams have undergone a complete roster makeover, as former Utah State HC Ryan Odom takes over for Mike Rhoades. Besides bringing back Zeb Jackson, the team has landed several quality guards, including Sean Bairstow and Max Shulga from the Aggies.

VCU also brought in Joe Bamisile but if he has to sit next season, there’s more room available in the backcourt for another. And Rucker is better on paper than Richmond transfer Jason Nelson when it comes to running the offense. It would be not only another local option but one at a level (A-10) that the former Army guard is more likely to succeed at.
