Michigan Wolverines

It’s been a desperate offseason for the Wolverines in the backcourt for next season. They had landed UNC transfer Caleb Love but unfortunately parted ways. They missed out on Rayj Dennis and is a finalist for another point guard, Zyon Pullin. If they don’t land him, don’t be surprised if they move toward Johnson, who would actually be a nice fit off-guard next to Dug McDaniel.

Michigan does have plenty of ball-handlers committed for the future. George Washington III is an incoming four-star commit, while Christian Anderson and Durral Brooks are class of 2024 commits and other ball-handlers. So it would mean that Johnson wouldn’t handle the ball much with this option but still would be a key piece on the rebuilding roster and have a pathway to being a focal point of the offense.

Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels were after Jackson in his first recruitment but even though it’s a new coaching staff, they might be even more appealing since it’s Coach Chris Beard. This is also a team that has landed six transfers, including four in the backcourt. The two most likely ball-handlers are Saint Peter’s transfer Jaylen Murray and ASU guard Austin Nunez, neither of whom are true distributors.

Ole Miss doesn’t have a true point guard on the roster that the SEC program can feel comfortable with. But even though they have class of 2024 commit Jason Jackson coming in the future, this would be a good late option for the program and a chance for the former Jayhawk commit to even start as a freshman.
