Two months have passed since Connecticut cut down the nets and secured their fifth national championship, but plenty has happened in the time since that game. While there haven’t been any basketball games on the court, NCAA basketball has served up plenty of excitement throughout April and May.

First, the coaching carousel spun around, with every open D1 head coaching position being filled during this time. Additionally, the Transfer Portal has been an even more hectic spin, with literally thousands of student-athletes looking for a new school to continue their career. At the same, dozens of other players considered their futures, weighing professional careers against continuing at the college game.

The mayhem of all of these decisions and movements has continued the excitement of college basketball. As mentioned, there haven’t been any actual games in literally two months, but there’s still plenty of buzz in the sport at every single program. While hundreds remain in the Portal, many rosters are starting to solidify and we’re getting a better idea of what some of these teams will look like for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

We’re still months away from the next season beginning, but we did just pass an important milestone: the deadline to withdraw from the NBA Draft process. A long list of talented basketball players recently announced that they would depart or return to school, with those returners greatly boosting already talented rosters. As a result of this recent boost, we’re taking another look at the current state of the Top 25. It’s still way too early, but here’s where the top teams in the nation stand as of early June.
