NCAA Basketball: Baylor rises, Kentucky falls in latest 2023-24 WTE power rankings

13. Arkansas
Things in Arkansas have been massively improved since Eric Musselman took over this program back in 2019. These Razorbacks have been to the second weekend of the last three NCAA Tournaments, making consecutive Elite Eights before settling for the Sweet Sixteen last season. Even while finishing eight games back of Alabama in the conference race, Arkansas still had a very talented roster and one doomed by injuries early in the year.
Many pieces from last year are gone, though Trevon Brazile is back from injury and Davonte Davis will look to build on an impressive junior season. Musselman has mastered the Transfer Portal, with this year’s contributions just as great as any program across the nation. They’ve added Tramon Mark from Houston, Khalif Battle from Temple, Jeremiah Davenport from Cincinnati, and El Ellis from Louisville into the mix.
It’s going to be very different for the Razorbacks, no longer leaning on stars like Ricky Council and Anthony Black, but there’s still a wealth of talent on this roster. It’s hard to pinpoint how this new look team will come together. That being said, it’s hard to bet against what Musselman has done in recent years. There are impressive names wearing the Arkansas jerseys this season, but can they compete for an SEC title after finishing just 8-10 in conference play last year?
