2. Duke

The first season without Mike Krzyzewski roaming the sidelines went alright for the Blue Devils. Jon Scheyer’s first season wasn’t super memorable, falling out of the Tournament in the second round after winning the ACC Tournament. However, the talent on this Duke roster will be quite significant.

Kyle Filipowski, Mark Mitchell, and Tyrese Proctor are all back as sophomores which were likely unexpected a few months ago. Point guard Jeremy Roach is also back, giving the Blue Devils their top four scorers back from last season. Skilled freshmen Dariq Whitehead and Dereck Lively are gone, but Scheyer was busy again on the recruiting trail, landing 5-star freshmen Jared McCain, Sean Stewart, Caleb Foster, and TJ Power.

There’s a lot to like about this Blue Devils rotation and it’s no surprise that they’re ranked so high at this point in the offseason. Frankly, finding the right lineups and balance is going to be Scheyer’s most significant challenge, especially with all of that young talent coming in. Filipowski really emerged as a freshman and could be even more dominant as a sophomore, and there’s so much more on this roster around him.
