2. Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines have been with Nkamhoua the longest in this recruitment but yet still can’t land the signature. It’s not as if there’s a concern with playing time, as the forward is on paper, better than both Terrance Williams and Will Tshetter. And with Dug McDaniel being the top-returning scorer on the roster, the former Vol could come in and be the clear focal point of the offense.

The problem for them might be that they haven’t been able to upgrade the roster since they’ve been in contact with Nkamhoua. Michigan did land Caleb Love but that didn’t work out. And now they’re in danger of missing out on both Rayj Dennis and Zyon Pullin, two of the top guards in the portal. They have needs outside of forward regardless of what Nkamhoua does and maybe the roster isn’t good enough for him to join and make the Big Dance?

1. Kansas State Wildcats

The Wildcats were the latest to get in the mix for Nkamhoua but they had to wait on a couple of decisions. One was key forward Keyontae Johnson, who got cleared by the NBA doctors and went pro. And another former Tennessee forward, Julian Phillips, also stayed in the NBA Draft. And reportedly, K-State was looking to land him had he come back for another NCAA Basketball campaign.

The team does have North Texas transfer Tylor Perry, along with returning big man, Nae’Qwan Tomlin. But the wing/forward position is wide open and Nkamhoua can come in and essentially replace Johnson. He’d have arguably the largest role of any of the five teams and assuming Coach Jerome Tang can keep building on the roster like he did a year ago, can have Nkamhoua as a leading piece on a team that gets back to the NCAA Tournament.
