2. The King, Football

Yes, this is a basketball site, and we love it just as much as anybody out there, but even we can admit that America’s game is the game of football.

Watching UConn play on FS1 is something that we all love, Big East Basketball is one of the greatest and most exciting games out there, but athletic directors and the guys upstairs look at dollar signs and eyeballs on their university, and football brings that more than basketball.

Right now, the Huskies sit as an independent in the football world, and since they are not Notre Dame, that hurts them a bit in terms of scheduling, as they have to individually schedule games, and do not have the luxury of televised games against conference opponents.

Despite the aspect of UConn not having football on campus itself, they may struggle at first to turn themselves into a football school, at least more of one, but winning can help with that, and they did surpass expectations last year.

Now a move to the ACC or Big 12 puts them against the greater competition, and they would become the Rutgers of whatever conference they move to, probably not winning a conference game in their first year there.

But win or lose, getting your football team to play on national television against some of the biggest programs in the nation year after year is a win, and it seems that UConn may want to take that win.
