NCAA Basketball: 10 teams that should target Louisiana transfer Jordan Brown
By Joey Loose
Alabama
Head coach Nate Oats has done a masterful job of building Alabama into a national contender, winning SEC titles in two of the last three seasons. That being said, All-American Brandon Miller will not be back in Tuscaloosa this season and there really isn’t a replacement on the current roster. Sure, the Crimson Tide have already added standout guard Aaron Estrada from Hofstra, but there’s still work to be done in the Transfer Portal.
The backcourt returns Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly; they just need a boost in the frontcourt to be the type of team that can compete for a national championship. Last season, Alabama was the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament before falling in the Sweet Sixteen, but is Brown more of a backup plan? The Crimson Tide are among the favorites to land either Creighton forward Arthur Kaluma or North Dakota State star Grant Nelson, each of whom would also fill that spot on the roster.
Baylor
Now multiple seasons removed from their national championship, Baylor has plenty of new faces in place but might not be done rebuilding this lineup. They boasted one of the nation’s best backcourts last season and added freshman Ja’Kobe Walter and former Toledo star RayJ Dennis to bolster that part of the lineup after losing LJ Cryer, Adam Flagler, Keyonte George. That being said, there’s still work to be done on the rest of the roster.
Baylor just missed out on former Tennessee forward Olivier Nkamhoua and there’s certainly a major role available for Brown on this roster. Jalen Bridges and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua are the big names back in the frontcourt, meaning there’s plenty of playing time and scoring chances available for Brown with the Bears. He’d also have a chance to play meaningful games in the Big 12 for a team that already is a Top 25 squad before adding a weapon like him.
