Marquette

The Golden Eagles were significantly better than expected last season, led by Big East Player of the Year Tyler Kolek who will be back this season. With Kam Jones, Oso Ighodaro, David Joplin, and Stevie Mitchell all coming back as well, there’s legitimate reason to expect another great year out of the Golden Eagles. This team did win the Big East last season and return much of that talent, though they did lose Olivier Maxence-Prosper.

Simply put, Brown could slide in and be an impactful weapon much the way Maxence-Prosper was this past season. He might not have the same opportunities or put up the same numbers he did at Louisiana, but Brown is an impactful frontcourt weapon and the Golden Eagles could sure use another one of those, especially with some of the strong teams in the Big East. If Brown did head to Marquette, the rich would simply get richer and Marquette might be a Top 5 team in the preseason.

Memphis

There have been plenty of ups and downs in the five years since Penny Hardaway became head coach at Memphis but there’s certainly been no shortage of talent. The Tigers were left behind in the AAC and find themselves in what might be a more winnable league. Unfortunately, they’ve lost Kendric Davis, Elijah McCadden, and other important pieces from last year’s Tournament team.

Five-star guard Mikey Williams and former Florida State guard Caleb Mills join the backcourt, while former St. John’s wing David Jones is a major addition as well. The big question for the Tigers is if DeAndre Williams will get a waiver to play a sixth collegiate season. With or without his presence, Memphis is certainly lacking weapons in the backcourt and Brown would have both significant run and plenty of scoring opportunities with the Tigers.
