Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels are a team that could also use a proven ball-handler, considering the lack of proven options they have right now. ASU transfer Austin Nunez didn’t play much after his first season, while Jaylen Murray comes from Saint Peter’s. There’s a chance that Allen Flanigan, a wing from Auburn, could even share the PG duties if they don’t land anyone else for next season.

Even though the roster overall is good, including landing a pair of former Defensive Players of the Year (Moussa Cisse and Jamarion Sharp), the potential hole at the PG position could derail everything for Ole Miss. And with Florida getting Zyon Pullin and rival Mississippi State getting Andrew Taylor from Marshall, this team needs to have a clear lead guard in order to compete in the SEC; Mulcahy could be that guy for them.

Pittsburgh Panthers

The Panthers have been after a veteran ball-handler to round out the roster, including transfer targets, Noah Thomasson and Mike Sharavjamts. However, both have moved on to other destinations. That leaves the team with Rhode Island transfer Ismael Leggett, redshirt freshman Dior Johnson and four-star freshman Jaland Lowe as potential ball-handlers.

None of them are proven at the ACC level, which presents an opportunity for someone like Mulcahy to come in and run the offense. The city of Pittsburgh isn’t very far off from where the former Rutgers guard is from as well and with leading scorer Blake Hinson back, the point guard can rack up plenty of assists at this new stop as well.
