1. Kansas Jayhawks – Buy

When looking at transfer portal splashes, it’s hard to see which NCAA Basketball program did better than Kansas. They landed four players, including Towson sharpshooter Nicolas Timberlake, as well as former Texas guard and five-star prospect, Arterio Morris. But the biggest haul was Hunter Dickinson, an All-American center from Michigan that averaged 18.5 ppg and 9.0 rpg last season.

KJ Adams is a great compliment to Dickinson in the frontcourt, as he can do it all and guard the opposing team’s best big men. Speaking of defense, they also bring back point guard Dajuan Harris, who was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. And despite recently losing four-star combo guard Chris Johnson, the Jayhawks still have top-30 PG Elmarko Jackson, along with four-star guard commit, Jamari McDowell.

Kansas got even better at the NBA Draft deadline, bringing back double-digit scoring wing, Kevin McCullar. He gives the team another offensive threat alongside Dickinson and will keep the team as one of the top defensive units in the country. There could be some offensive spacing issues without both Jalen Wilson and Gradey Dick around but if the offense goes through the big man, they should be fun.

Coach Bill Self is a multi-time national champion and assuming his health is good, Kansas will once again be a national title contender. Like every team, the Jayhawks aren’t perfect but on paper, there’s no reason why they can’t look to make another deep run next March.
