When it comes to winners and losers this offseason, a good case can be made that Kentucky Basketball is one of the biggest “losers”. To this point, just about nothing has gone right. Several role players had entered the transfer portal, including most notably, CJ Fredrick and Lance Ware.

They also dealt with multiple NBA Draft decisions. Freshman star Cason Wallace was a foregone departure, while the Wildcats had to deal with a trio of moves on the NBA Draft deadline to withdraw. Former National Player of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe stayed in the draft along with freshman forward, Chris Livingston.

The one player that did leave the draft process was Antonio Reeves, who was second on the team with 14.4 ppg. The former Illinois State star was a major impact newcomer for Kentucky Basketball this past season, shooting 40% from three-point range and excelling down the stretch. The senior guard was named SEC 6th Man of the Year but played his best ball as a starter, including 37 points against Arkansas in the regular season.

Technically, Reeves is part of the Wildcats roster. But like many sudden offseason storylines, there’s a chance that he could enter the transfer. After four years in college, the guard should be able to qualify as a grad transfer, making him immediately eligible for next season. He hasn’t officially announced his return to the program and reports are out there that he can leave.

But would that be the right thing for Reeves to do? Here’s a list of the pros and cons of his pending decision.
