The “DMV” area consistently develops some of the top NCAA Basketball prospects on an annual basis. One of them in the 2024 recruiting class is Caleb Williams, a four-star prospect from Washington D.C. He’s a 6’7 small forward and a solid two-way talent overall.

Williams has recently announced a list of potential options, including a couple of local options. The question is which of them makes the most sense? Here’s a closer look at the seven reported contenders.

Georgetown Hoyas

The Hoyas already have two class of 2024 commits in guard Kayvaun Mulready and forward Thomas Sorber. They could use a wing as well, with Williams as the top local option. They do have UNC commit Dontrez Styles and incoming freshmen, Drew McKenna and Drew Fielder so the frontcourt is set to be young and crowded. But they’re also young, giving Williams a chance to compete for minutes.

Indiana Hoosiers

Miller Kopp is gone and Jordan Geronimo is gone but the Hoosiers landed five-star prospect Mackenzie Mgbako this offseason. He’s set to play most of his minutes at the three-spot and likely will be around for either one of two seasons. Outside of reserve Kaleb Banks, there aren’t any other options in the future on the wing. However, if they were to land either Liam McNeeley or Tyler Betsey, two five-star targets in the 2024 class, this could become a bad option for Williams.

Miami Hurricanes

Miami brought in Florida State transfer Matthew Cleveland, capable of playing both forward positions. There’s currently not much depth on the wings, as Wooga Poplar and former four-star AJ Casey are other options. Still, there’s room in the future for Williams to carve out a role, and with Coach Jim Larranaga signing an extension and set to be around for the foreseeable future, it’s certainly a viable option.
