19. Akwasi Yeboah

Yeboah is a 6’6 wing from the United Kingdom who was originally recruited to Stony Brook by Steve Pikiell. With Pikiell leaving for Rutgers in 2016, Yeboah would play for the Seawolves under Jeff Boals during Boals’ entire three-year tenure with the program. After standing out as one of Stony Brook’s best players of the last decade, he spent his final collegiate season with Pikiell and those Scarlet Knights in the Big Ten.

There are just three Stony Brook seasons to examine, but Yeboah did plenty of good during that stretch. He was the kind of player who was a great scorer, an efficient rebounder, and a decent shot-blocker too. After a decent start to his career, his sophomore season saw a breakthrough, averaging 15.3 points per game. His final season at Stony Brook not only saw an 11-win increase for the program, but saw Yeboah average 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game with decent shooting numbers as well.

Honored on the All-Freshman team in his first season, he would earn conference honors the next two years, including First Team All-America East as a junior. That final season with the Seawolves saw him ranked 4th in points and 2nd in rebounding in the conference, truly emerging as a weapon in the America East. Rutgers got good production out of Yeboah, though his best years were those last couple at Stony Brook.
