Kerr Kriisa

2022-23 season stats: 9.9 ppg and 5.1 apg

From an opinion standpoint, Kriisa is one of the more controversial players to analyze. In his two full years at Arizona, he averaged around 10 ppg and 5.0 apg. He was the starting point guard on teams that ended up being a 1 and 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Yet he also was part of teams that flamed out early in the postseason as well.

Kriisa has a pair of triple-doubles on his resume and is a quality passer. He also can go off from deep when feeling it. He had 24 points against Utah Tech this past season, as well as 21 against San Diego State, who went on to play in the national title game. There are downsides as well, as Kriisa only shot 37% from the field and is incredibly streaky, to say the least.

That’s why there was so much intrigue with Kriisa playing for West Virginia. It worked out well with Stevenson, who has the same style and temperament as Kriisa. And he’s a legit passer and the hope is that there are plenty of weapons that’ll allow the former Wildcat to not have to do too much.

Still, the point guard position is a must for teams to want to compete and there are still programs that need a veteran ball-handler. Michigan and Illinois would instantly come to mind but just about everyone with an open roster spot would reach out.
