As the summer rolls on and the college basketball rosters start to take shape, there are a group of mid-major players who are poised for a breakout year. That breakout doesn’t always have to be a career year it could be a season that finally earns the player much-deserved recognition. This is a feature that has been done every year at Busting Brackets but this year it is going to be done a little bit differently.

In past years I have highlighted a player from each conference that I thought everyone needed to know about, and while that is still going to be done, the focus in this series of articles will be one player from each low and mid-major conference that I believe will win the player of the year in the conference and will carry their team to the NCAA tournament or to the best finish the school has had in a while.

Each conference will have a player featured and every week a new conference will be highlighted starting with the America East and ending with the West Coast Conference. The player will be introduced and given a preview of why that player is primed for a breakout year. There will also be a section that gives an overall outlook for the team and how the chosen player is going to contribute to the overall success or failure of the team. Most of these teams are going to be teams that have not made the NCAA tournament over the last two seasons. If any of the readers have any suggestions for a player that should be featured in the breakout players please feel free to let me know

The first player comes from the America East conference and is a player who showed up in a big way on the National Stage last season but is a player who is going to be ready for a huge year and should find himself on a lot of national lists as the season winds on. Clarence O. Daniels II is a guard for the University of New Hampshire, and he is turning into a big star and already is cementing himself as one of the best Wildcats to ever wear the uniform. New Hampshire has the best player in the America East conference and he is ready for his breakout on the National stage.
