What to expect from Clarence Daniels in 2023-24?

It is no secret that the America East runs through Burlington, VT. The Vermont Catamounts have owned the conference for some time but lately, the conference has gotten much more competitive from top to bottom and New Hampshire was one of those teams in the league that had been on an upward trend over the last few seasons.

That still was not enough for the administration at New Hampshire to keep long-time coach Bill Herrion and they decided to go another way and hire former Bucknell coach Nathan Davis. Davis has been to the NCAA tournament and has won conference championships and that was the reason for the hire.

The first order of business for the new Wildcats head coach was to recruit and secure the commitment of his star. Daniels initially entered the transfer portal but ultimately decided to come back to New Hampshire and try to get his team to the NCAA tournament. Daniels is going to lead the America East in most of the statistical categories and may also have one of the highest usage ratings in the entire country.

The junior forward should win the player of the year in the conference and if he plays up to his potential the race should not be that close. Knowing how good Daniels is can he lead his team to the promised land? He is good enough to change a game and make the others around him better but making the tournament out of a single-bid league is always a tall task.

Daniels is the best player on the floor most nights and is going to be the best player for New Hampshire every night and is going to be the workhorse for that basketball team. He is going to lead them in points, rebounds, blocks, steals, and virtually every counting stat you can think of. No one can do it alone not even LeBron James or Michael Jordan so he is going to need some help.

Davis is a great coach and is going to get the most out of his guys and guys like Trey Woodyard and Edinboro College transfer Naim Miller are going to be the ones the Wildcats are going to rely on. Daniels is the best player in the America East and this year everyone is going to be forced to take notice.
