NCAA Basketball: Top 50 players from 2023 NBA Draft most likely to succeed
12. Olivier-Maxence Prosper – Marquette Golden Eagles
2022-23 season stats: 12.5 ppg and 4.7 rpg
A case can be made that the 6’8 forward was the 4th-best player for Marquette this past season but the best overall NBA Draft prospect. Prosper is a tremendous athlete and runs the floor well. One of the top frontcourt defenders overall, he’s the type of all-around player that could excel at the NBA level.
11. Kris Murray – Iowa Hawkeyes
2022-23 season stats: 20.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg
Kris’ game is different from his brother an All-Rookie performer, Keegan Murray. He’s not the same kind of pure shooter, especially from three-point range. Still, Kris is an elite scorer in his own right from all three levels and can get to the basket. He’s a solid defender and has the size to be a two-way player at the next level as well. Look for Murray to be a contributor from Day 1 and a potential starter down the road.
10. Dereck Lively – Duke Blue Devils
2022-23 season stats: 5.2 ppg and 5.4 rpg
Lively had a very slow start to the season and took a while to get it going, especially when it comes to being any kind of offensive threat. Yet once fully healthy, Lively proved to be one of the best rim protectors in all of NCAA Basketball and an athletic shot-blocker. If there’s any offensive development to his game, look for Lively to be a future starting center for years to come in the NBA.
