6. Sean Kilpatrick

A 6’4 guard from Yonkers, New York, Kilpatrick arrived on the college scene way back in 2010 at Cincinnati, joining Mick Cronin’s program when they were still members of the Big East. Kilpatrick had a successful career for the Bearcats and really put things together at the tail end of that career. Since we’re only focusing on the AAC and the last decade, this leaves us with just a single season to consider, but Kilpatrick gave us plenty in his senior year.

Already an impressive scorer and shooter, Kilpatrick rose the bar by averaging 20.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in that final season. Though Cincinnati’s season ended in Tourney upset, Kilpatrick paved the way for a fantastic debut in the AAC, leading the program to 27 wins and a ton of success right off the bat. He had six games with 25 or more points and the Bearcats won all but one of those games, while Kilpatrick was also a talented free throw shooter, hitting nearly 85% that season.

Kilpatrick was named Second Team All-American for his emphatic senior season, though he also received First Team All-AAC honors in the conference’s inaugural season. He led the conference in points per game, 3-pointers made, and a few other offensive metrics. Kilpatrick truly was the sparkplug for this Cincinnati team and made a monumental impact for the Bearcats, both before and after they transitioned to the AAC. Today, that dominant senior season is more than enough to warrant inclusion.
