4. Kendric Davis

A 5’11 point guard from Houston, Davis is an extremely talented player, who spent these past five seasons in the college game. He actually began his playing career under Jamie Dixon at TCU way back in 2018 but transferred to SMU after just a single season. However, Davis spent time at multiple AAC schools, heading to Memphis last offseason after three years as SMU’s starting point guard.

Davis started every game in his four seasons in the AAC and he emerged as one of the league’s best offensive weapons. Not only was he a decent long-range shooter, but Davis also averaged 7.6 assists in his second season at SMU. His final two seasons with the Mustangs saw him eclipse 19 points per game, but he was even better at Memphis. He led the Tigers this past season by averaging 21.9 points and 5.4 assists per game, winning AAC Tournament MVP after delivering in March for a hungry Memphis squad.

Davis was a high-profile transfer last offseason and it’s no surprise why: he was the AAC Player of the Year in 2022 while still at SMU. He was a four-time conference honoree and was named First Team All-AAC in each of his final three seasons. He was the league’s top scorer in his final two seasons and led the way in assists multiple times, sitting atop the AAC’s career leaders in that stat as well. Davis was a magnificent athlete who really produced at both of these AAC schools.
