Atlantic 10 Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
The college basketball universe is all about making memories. We remember the buzzer-beaters and the big wins, but we remember the little things too. We don’t forget about the hardworking players who make those moments possible, no matter how big or small their impact may be. It’s the players and their actions on the court that make this sport what it is.
We’ll be focusing on the players again today, presenting the third piece in this new major series of articles. We’re focusing on the best players from the last decade from each of the current 32 conferences in the nation. We’ve already focused on the America East and the AAC and have more than two dozen more conferences, but today’s attention is squarely on Atlantic 10 Basketball.
One could argue that the A-10 is the best mid-major conference in college basketball. The conference has regularly had multiple bids to the NCAA Tournament, though it misses former members like Butler, Temple, and Xavier. The same fourteen schools have remained in the conference for the last ten seasons, with the addition of Loyola-Chicago recently in 2022 bringing the total to fifteen. Across those teams, there’s plenty of talent in the league.
This is a series focused solely on what these players have accomplished in the last ten years in this specific conference. A player who spent time at another school or in another conference will only be judged or ranked based on their seasons in the A-10. It’s very possible that someone is a star in the A-10 for one season and works their way onto the list, but other potential seasons won’t be considered. As previously mentioned, there’s a surplus talent in this mid-major league; let’s get right into the decade’s best from the A-10.
