Atlantic 10 Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
16. Josh Oduro
Oduro is a 6’9 forward from Haymarket, Virginia who has spent the last four seasons playing at George Mason. He’s been a fantastic piece for the Patriots and emerged as one of the finer frontcourt weapons in the A-10. Originally recruited by Dave Paulsen, he spent his final two seasons under new head coach Kim English and really saw his career take off.
After decent numbers early in his career, he’d average 17.7 points and 7.5 rebounds as a junior in his best shooting season to date. He had four 30-point efforts, with most of them coming in conference play. He helped lead George Mason to their first 20-win season in nearly a decade during his senior season, averaging 15.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in the process.
Oduro was named First Team All-A-10 each of these last two seasons and has emerged as one of the league’s best rebounders as well. He actually led the conference in points per game as a junior and has certainly been a sparkplug for George Mason’s recent turnaround. However, this offseason he followed his head coach to Providence and will spend his bonus year in the Big East with the Friars.
