8. Peyton Aldridge
Davidson has had some major offensive threats in recent years and Aldridge was certainly among that bunch. A 6’7 forward from Leavittsburg, Ohio, he was a major contributor for four seasons with the Wildcats, arriving on campus in 2014 and leaving after a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament.
He put up decent figures as a starter as a freshman, including 14 points in their first round Tourney loss to Iowa. Aldridge would develop into that major threat later in his career, averaging 20.5 points and 8.2 rebounds as Davidson’s top option as a junior. He averaged 21.2 points as a senior, including a 45-point performance against St. Bonaventure, and got the Wildcats to the Big Dance for a second time, this time as the primary scorer.
He really capped off his career well with that senior season, earning A-10 Player of the Year and A-10 Tournament MVP honors. It was his second straight All-A-10 campaign. He was the top scorer in the A-10, with impressive offensive metrics and very solid rebounding figures as well. Aldridge was one of many potent offensive players who have featured under Bob McKillop in recent years and certainly made his impact while in the league.
