Atlantic 10 Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
7. Jordair Jett
Recruiting to Saint Louis by Rick Majerus over a decade ago, Jett became a major part of the Billiken’s success in the early 2010’s, and continued to be a phenomenal player after Majerus passed away in 2012. A 6’1 point guard from St. Paul, Minnesota, Jett was a bench piece for much of his first three seasons, though it’s just his senior season we’re focusing on, as that was the only season that came after 2013.
Even limiting ourselves to his senior season, we can see that Jett was a talented player. He’d average 13.9 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.0 rebounds in that final collegiate campaign, helping lead Saint Louis to 26 wins and a third straight appearance in the Round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament, scoring 18 points in a first round win over NC State. Jett also had a career-high 31 points in a win at Rhode Island and a career-high 11 assists against Duquesne earlier that season.
Jett brought home A-10 Player of the Year honors and was named to the conference’s All-Defense team for a third straight season. Not only did Jett have great offensive and defensive metrics, but he led this Billikens team on another journey to the NCAA Tournament. Saint Louis fell on hard times in the seasons following his departure, furthering showing what a vital piece he was for the Billikens.
