Big East Basketball: How each 2023 NBA draftee will fit with their new teams
By John Makuch
5. Bucks, No. 36, Andre Jackson Jr. UConn
The high-flying Andre Jackson Jr. was originally selected by the Orlando Magic, but the Milwaukee Bucks went out and got him as they seek another NBA Championship next season.
Jackson Jr. is an athletic 6’6 wing player who can make plays on both ends of the floor and has found himself in a great situation with the Bucks. Jackson Jr. is a player who still needs more development when it comes to his scoring ability, specifically shooting, and the Bucks can provide great development for young players.
Most notably, Giannis Antetokoumpo has gone through this development, and he turned out pretty alright for Milwaukee. The Bucks have been able to develop young talent like Jackson Jr. into key contributors for their great roster, and since they traded up to get him, he is expected to do great things for this franchise.
Every team needs solid wing defenders to win a championship, and the Bucks are betting on Jackson Jr. to become one of those players that can come off the bench, help get a few stops and throw down a thunderous jam on fastbreak opportunities whether that is on a lob or him taking it himself.
This now goes down as an impressive year for the conference with five players getting drafted, it is now up to them to be successful and represent the Big East.
