Last season, West Virginia was a team that used the NCAA Basketball transfer portal to add plenty of talent. One of those newcomers was Joe Toussaint, a 6’0 combo guard from the Bronx, New York. He spent his first three seasons at Iowa, starting 41 games and averaging around five points a game.

As mentioned, Toussaint joined the Mountaineers, where he came off the bench as a 6th Man. He still ended up playing the most minutes in his career in 21 mpg. The senior guard averaged a career-high 9.4 ppg on 33% three-point shooting. That included 20 points against Baylor and 22 versus Texas Tech. He also had 19 points and seven rebounds in a victory over Iowa State.

Toussaint proved that he could be an effective rotation piece for a power conference program and he was set for the same role at West Virginia next season after Kerr Kriisa transferred over from West Virginia. However, with the recent firing of head coach Bob Huggins, everything has changed for the program and a potential roster exodus is coming.

So far, several players have entered the transfer portal. Kriisa and Tre Mitchell are the notable names that’ll get national attention but so is Toussaint, who is a 5th-year veteran ball-handler that can play both on and off the ball. For teams that still need a guard, he’s arguably a more reasonable target, assuming that the big names target other options.

Here’s a list of teams that could use Toussaint for next season and offer him a potential role.
