14. Tre Jones

While he didn’t become a national champion like brother Tyus, Tre Jones was still a major weapon at Duke. A 6’3 guard from Apple Valley, Minnesota, Jones was a 5-star recruit back in 2018 who joined Coach K and the Blue Devils much like his older brother, though his stats were a little better by the end of his collegiate career.

Duke’s full-time starting point guard as a freshman, Jones averaged 9.4 points and 5.3 assists and helped lead the Blue Devils to the Elite Eight, including a 22-point effort in their Sweet Sixteen win. Jones was even more impressive as a sophomore, averaging 16.2 points and 6.4 assists in the season that would be shortened by the pandemic. His highlights that season included 31 points against Georgia State and a double-double against North Carolina in his final collegiate game.

Heading to the Elite Eight as a freshman was impressive, but Jones’ play was elevated in that second and final campaign. Jones was ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, sitting among the conference’s leaders in scoring, assists, and a number of other statistics. Again, Jones didn’t win the big one like his brother, but Tyus was never First-Team All-ACC.
