Illinois Fighting Illini

After a long offseason of trying to land a point guard, Illinois thought it had one with Iowa State transfer, Jeremiah Williams. However, he and the program recently parted ways in the past week, leaving the PG position wide open. Right now, they’re forced to either start incoming freshman Drayyn Gibbs-Lawhorn or play Terrence Shannon Jr. out of position for a second straight year.

Quinerly could be better suited to join the Illinois roster than any of the other targets since he’s played various roles at Alabama, both on and off the bench. He’d definitely start for the Big Ten program but depending on different lineups can be a 6th Man option as well.

Kansas State Wildcats

The Wildcats have been looking for another ball-handler to pair with Tylor Perry, who comes to them from Texas Tech. This is a roster that still lacks depth in the backcourt. Besides hoping that Perry is good enough to play at the Big 12 level, Cam Carter is the only other veteran on the roster that has played.

Quinerly, formerly a five-star prospect, showed flashes of being a lead guard with the Crimson Tide. At Kansas State under Coach Jerome Tang, the senior ball-handler could thrive and put up his best stats yet. And unlike at Alabama, there wouldn’t be a question as to whether or not he’d start.
