Gonzaga Bulldogs

The Bulldogs had another roster move in the past week, as four-star prospect Alex Toohey decided to stay in Australia and sign a pro deal. That doesn’t change the backcourt outlook since he’s a combo forward but this leaves three open roster spaces for the team to try and fill as the calendar turns to July.

With Malachi Smith gone, the backcourt depth for Gonzaga outside of projected starters, Nolan Hickman and Creighton transfer Ryan Nembhard, is just four-star guard, Dusty Stromer. Horton would be another veteran piece that would get around 20-25 mpg and easily have his best chance to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in his career.

Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers have been a team that after landing five-star forward Mackenzie Mgbako, have hit a dry spell in the transfer portal. And they’ve been in need of a shooting guard, now that Jalen Hood-Schifino and Tamar Bates are gone. They do have Trey Galloway and CJ Gunn on the roster but neither are proven in extended minutes.

Indiana’s biggest weakness on the roster is three-point shooting, considering who the projected frontcourt starters are. Horton would be a great spot-up shooter on the wings with experience to pair with Xavier Johnson, who just happens to be a former teammate of his a couple of years ago at Pittsburgh.
