ASUN Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
16. Beau Beech
A 6’8 wing from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Beech stayed in his home state and was a pretty good shooter for North Florida earlier in the decade. He became his time with the Ospreys in 2012 and there’s plenty to reflect on the final three years of his career; the seasons that fall in our window of examination.
Beech’s offensive numbers grew more impressive with each passing season, though his 3-point shooting was always fantastic. After averaging 12.9 points per game as a junior, he was stellar with 28 points in North Florida’s NCAA Tournament loss to Robert Morris. During his senior season, Beech shot 42% from beyond the arc, helping the program to another fine season and putting up 15.4 points and 6.4 rebounds a game.
Beech was named First Team All-ASUN for those final two seasons, finishing near the top of the league in points, steals, and long-range shooting each year. His performance in the NCAA Tournament was phenomenal, even if the Ospreys did lose in the First Four. His efforts were adamant during that brief preseason run and he contributed to making North Florida a very potent shooting team during his time there.
