ASUN Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)

5. Langston Hall
College basketball is full of underrated point guards and Hall was certainly among that number. A 6’4 athlete from Atlanta, he became a major backcourt weapon during his career at Mercer. Now of course, Mercer departed the ASUN for the SoCon back in 2014, meaning we’re only really looking at a single season of Hall’s career, but he gave us plenty to talk about.
After putting up decent numbers in his first three seasons, Hall’s senior year saw him average 14.6 points, 5.6 assists and hit nearly 40% of his 3-pointers. More importantly, he helped lead the Bears to a 27-win season that included the ASUN Tournament title in their last season in the league. What’s even better is that he played a major role in Mercer’s huge upset win over Duke in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
Hall was phenomenal in that final season, winning ASUN Tournament MVP and Player of the Year honors. That upset win over Duke was an incredible end to a hardworking college career, while he also led the conference in assists as a senior. He was an impressive offensive weapon, leading the ASUN in points produced during that final year as well. Mercer will never forget his contributions or that magical season.
