19. Kori Babineaux

Babineaux is a 6’4 guard from Folsom, California who spend part of his high school career in the Chicago suburbs, meaning it wasn’t a major change when he began his collegiate career at Drake. However, he didn’t really get much run at Drake and transferred after his freshman season, spending the next year at the City College of San Francisco. Babineaux was next a starting guard for two seasons with Jacksonville, coinciding with Tony Jasick’s first two seasons at the helm of the program.

Babineaux was certainly one of Jasick’s most important weapons, and he didn’t even recruit him to Jacksonville. In his first season, he averaged 14.8 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.9 rebounds, making quite the impact right off the bat, albeit in just a 10-win season for the Dolphins. Babineaux had three 30-point performances during his senior season and was one of ASUN’s top scorers, averaging 18.6 points a game in a season that was slightly better for Jacksonville.

Nobody in the ASUN made more 2-point field goals than Babineaux in either of his seasons at Jacksonville. He twice an All-ASUN player, garnering First Team honors in that great senior year to end his career. He didn’t win a ton of games with the Dolphins, but showcased his talents and put up some impressive numbers while running the offense. He was certainly a backcourt weapon that Jacksonville needed, even if there wasn’t much talent around him.
