No. 22 Brandon Murray (Ole Miss)

After hiring Chris Beard, things began to brew down in Oxford, and Brandon Murray’s commitment was part of a shift in the program for the Rebels.

The two-time transfer needs a waiver after leaving Georgetown, but Ole Miss is willing to wait if necessary for the 6’5 guard who can play a bit of forward as well if called upon. He can do just about everything on the floor for this team, and while there were not a ton of bright spots for Georgetown, Murray was one of them. As a sophomore, he put up 13.7 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 steals. Murray immediately improves this team on both ends of the floor and already showed he can handle SEC competition as a freshman at LSU.

Murray is a physical player that is effective in driving to the basket and can get stops when counted on. He was the first player Ole Miss brought into the new Beard program, and they do hope that the NCAA is going to allow guys like Murray who have already transferred twice to play, but that is yet to be seen for him and the people down in Oxford.
