NCAA Basketball: 6 teams that should target West Virginia transfer Jose Perez
Kentucky Wildcats
At one point, Kentucky had literally no experience on the roster set to enter next season. But having both Antonio Reeves and Tre Mitchell helps solve that issue. But they still have a couple of open roster spots available, both inside and on the perimeter.
The issue in the backcourt is that they have a pair of ball-handlers on the roster that are freshmen. That’s why they reportedly reached out to players such as Paul Mulcahy and others. Perez is a ball-handler that can come off the bench and play for a national contender, along with rejoining Mitchell in the lineup.
LSU Tigers
Another SEC program that could use an extra guard is LSU, who landed a ton of transfers already this offseason, including Jalen Cook, who averaged around 20 ppg and 5.0 apg at Tulane this past season. However, he reportedly needs a waiver in order to play next season.
If that doesn’t work out, the Tigers’ backcourt all of a sudden becomes a question mark. Either way, Perez could start at this option with and without Cook in the lineup. For a team that was last in the conference standings, adding another piece to solidify the lineup makes sense.
